Dr. James Young, DVM
James Young graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1990. He began practicing in Oshawa in a very busy small animal practice. In 1996, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practice. Along with his wife, Dr. Audrey Souccar, he opened the Boardwalk Animal Hospital in 1997. He has two daughters, one grandson, four cats and three dogs. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling and cycling endurance racing.
Diana has been working as a Veterinary Assistant at Boardwalk since 2004. She was born and raised in Germany, where she worked as a registered nurse. Now she calls The Beaches her home, where she lives with her three beautiful rescued cats, Ally, Lucy and Poopsy.
Layla started at Boardwalk Animal Hospital in 2007. She works at the reception desk with Sydney and also cares for the animals in the hospital while studying to obtain her Animal Technician degree. Most of her free time is consumed by caring for her Borzoi Sophie, Budgies named Pixel and Cyber, her four cats named Lima, Pekoe, Poobear, and Zuzu, a chinchilla named Little Buddy, and her husband, Bobo.
Dr. Carolyn Woodward, DVM
Dr. Carolyn Woodward joined the practice in August, 2001. After graduating from the University of P.E.I.’s Atlantic Veterinary College in 1997, she practiced in the United States for 4 years before moving back to Canada and joining Guildwood Village Animal Clinic as an associate. Dr. Woodward particularly enjoys behaviour issues, surgery and diagnostics.
Dr. Kris Szabo, DVM
Kris has been a veterinarian since 1999. She has worked part time at Boardwalk since 2008, and works at several other clinics around the city. She loves all animals and has two cats. She rescued one of them 10 years ago and recently adopted the other. Kris has many veterinary interests and hopes to expand upon them in the future.
Dr. Audrey Souccar, DVM
Audrey Souccar graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1986. She began working at a referral clinic in Toronto that specialized in ophthalmology, surgery and internal medicine. She opened her first practice, the Guildwood Village Animal Clinic in Westhill, in 1988, and then Boardwalk Animal Hospital in 1997. She currently divides her time between the two clinics. Audrey is the proud mother of two daughters, a grandson, three dogs and four cats. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, running and tennis.
Jan is a graduate of the University of Toronto (BSc) and Seneca College (RVT). She has been a veterinary technician since 1996 and joined the Boardwalk staff in 1998. Jan and her husband have two daughters, and they share their home with three dogs, Jenny, Basil and Nigel, a Bengal cat named Arwen, and a Siamese named Edward. In her spare time, Jan enjoys participating in dragon boat, taking dance classes, and belonging to a naturalist club.
Angela is a Registered Veterinary Technician and a 1999 graduate of Seneca College. Previously, she received her B.Sc. degree from the University of Toronto. She has been working hard at the Boardwalk Animal Hospital since 1999. Her interests outside of work include aerobics, long walks and spending time with her family. Much of her home time includes caring for her finches and fish, her guinea pig Timbit, and her latest addition, Scout the dog.
Majda is a new addition to our team. She has worked at Boardwalk since October 2009. Currently she is completing an Animal Care Worker course. She lives with her dog, Sam, and husband, Patrick. They are adding a new puppy to their family in the fall. In her spare time, she loves to walk, read and enjoy the beach with her dog.
